STORYTELLING

What is the first thing you think of when you hear the word snake? Since the beginning of time these animals have been synonymous with evil, sin, poison ... Both in the bible, as in Greek mythology or movies, they have always appeared as ruthless monsters that prevented the protagonists from achieving their goals.

For me, they are the opposite. And they are much more human-like than we think.

We all have a history, something that has marked us, and that today has made us what we are now. We have a backpack that we have to get rid of little by little over time, in order to move forward. Something like shedding its skin, leaving all the past behind and becoming a new snake with shining scales ready to continue on its journey. Something that beyond the myths and beliefs of society, makes them the queens of wisdom.

During this journey that we all undertake, it is important, and we will always need people to help us, and support us at times when we only see stones along the way.

Because the feeling when we know that we are being listened to and someone understands us is indescribable. And for me, one of the greatest virtues that someone can have is empathy.

I am Cris Fernández, and like snakes I have the gift of changing my skin and being able to get closer to feeling what others feel as if I were on their own, always knowing where the limits are.

For my commercial profile, I believe that this is essential, since the basis for having a good sale is to understand what our client needs at all times. Knowing how to advise you, always from your interest, and not so much from ours, an aspect that the client will value and can create a link that will make them loyal. As great references in the business world, they have cited: "Our vision is a customer-centric world." Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon. And as I mentioned before, the first thing for your company to succeed is to make the customer the most important thing.

This is coupled with other skills that I value in myself, such as honesty and assertiveness.

Life is my great challenge, a challenge of constant improvement, of struggle and of survival that has given me being self-sufficient, not needing anyone to achieve my goals, which does not imply that I do not enjoy learning and sharing with others. One of the most important lessons I learned from that journey was to always see the positive side of everything and never give up.

Now a new goal is opening, my foray into the world of work and I feel prepared to demonstrate everything I have learned in these two years that have made me grow in terms of personal skills as well as technical skills of the commercial profile, providing me with tools as adaptation to change, search for excellence in everything I do, sales techniques, management and administration of an establishment, communication skills, innovation, digital marketing and responsibility.

That restless part that characterizes me makes me always go in search of new challenges and things that make me improve. Soon an incredible opportunity appears in my life in my professional profile, which is to be able to live in Edinburgh for six months and finish perfecting the language. It makes me very excited and despite the fact that going alone can be something that scares me, it creates expectation and excitement in the face of something new, to live new experiences, to have to take decisions, responsibilities and meet new people on my own.

What excites me the most is that when I come back I will be able to combine what I have already acquired, with everything new that I will learn and thanks to those skills I will reach as high as I propose.

Finally, my reflection on all this would be that the important thing is not the end of the trip, but living each moment knowing how to get the best out of it, and like snakes, keep sliding down the road, through many stones that we can find in it. And that although we may have a thousand goals or plans for the future, they are all uncertain, but valid if we set ourselves to them.
